Many components need a coating matched to a defined set of operating conditions. Diffusion Alloys provides application-specific engineering support, working directly with customers to select or develop diffusion coatings suitable for their environment. Aluminizing
Aluminizing creates an aluminium-rich diffusion layer that forms a stable aluminium-oxide barrier during operation. It offers strong resistance to oxidation and hot corrosion at elevated temperatures. Typical applications include heat exchangers, gas turbine parts and boiler components where high-temperature stability is essential.
Chromizing
Chromizing produces a chromium-enriched diffusion layer that improves resistance to sulphidation, carburisation and metal dusting. It is suitable for components exposed to carbon-rich gases, sulphur-bearing gases or reducing atmospheres.
Boronizing
Boronizing introduces boron into the surface to create a very hard wear-resistant layer. This is useful where abrasion, erosion or sliding wear occurs alongside high temperatures. The coating remains stable under thermal cycling and provides long-term surface durability.
Metallurgical Bond
All diffusion coatings offered by Diffusion Alloys become part of the substrate rather than sitting on top of it. This metallurgical bond provides strong adhesion and resistance to spalling or flaking even when components undergo repeated thermal cycling.
